Most people knows that the hair transplantation is not an easy process and it needs much time and work from the doctor and the patient as well. However, it may takes about 6-8 hours at least and in some cases it can be a 12 hours procedure.
In the last 5 years, people starts to travel to Turkey for only tourism and hair transplant, so now Turkey considers the number one as the biggest country running hair transplant surgeries in the world.
And in this blog we will talk about the stages of this procedure starts from the first to final stage with all the details.
The hair transplant operation basically have three main stages:
1-Exract hair follicles.
2-open hair channels.
3-transplant the follicles.
Extracting stage :
In the beginning the patient needs to be taken a good sleep hours and have a good breakfast as well, so the doctor starts to apply the local anesthesia on the donor area and this can take few minutes until the patient get ready to the extracting.
Doctor will start extract follicles one by one using a special machine called “Micro motor”
This machine allows the doctor to take the follicles more and faster than the strip technique (FUT).
This micro motor has a small tapered head its diameter between 0.6-0.8 Mm.

Transplant stage.
This procedure may take from 2-3 hours at most and in the end we can give the patient some rest to have a meal or even go to WC.
Open hair channels:
In this stage the doctor makes holes in the baldness area to put the hair grafts into it.
This procedure needs to make by only the experts because the hair channels must be opened by 45 degree to give a natural hair line from the front and a normal hair shape to the whole head.
This process may take about 40 minutes and it is being done using a special tool with a sharp head to get into the scalp.
We have to know that the hair channels number must be according to the grafts number that means if the doctor extract 3000 grafts the channels number who will be opened should be 3000 hair channels.
Transplant stage:
In this phase we start to put the hair roots inside the channels that we opened in the baldness area.
This procedure can take between 3-4 hrs at most and the patient needs to stay awake and focus to help the doctors to finish the operation as soon as possible.
After the hair transplant is finish the nurse will weld the wound and make another appointment in the next day to come for check.
With these three stages the hair transplant is over and the patient needs to wait for the growing of the new hair.
Hair growing can takes from 3-6 months for getting 50% of the total result but it will keep growing until 1 year after transplant.
