Dr.Abdullah Mohammed Al-Sahli
We can say that Europe and America or what we call the West has witnessed several phases in which its vision of life and major issues were formed, from the Renaissance when the thought and culture of the West were controlled by two teams, the team of positivist philosophers and the team of natural scientists. The task of the first team was to define purposes, destination, and goals While the task of natural scientists was to work on the means and tools of life through inventions and scientific discoveries, and the two teams reached to different results, while natural scientists succeeded in discovering the means of life and the industry of luxury, positivist philosophers failed to determine the goals and destinations to be crossed, and their confusion was spreading the feeling of the loss of their compass! The attempts to determine the destination and the purpose were a series of try and error and,if you want, you can say it is wrong and wrong! Starting from ecclesiastical idealism to atheistic materialism, Instrumental pragmatism, and ending to post-modernism! Western philosophers and philosophers have been exhausted by their attempts to search for a safety beach. Despite the welfare of the ship, existential anxiety has spread to its passengers as they walk aimlessly, with the loss of the direction and the absence of answers to the major issues (the universe, man, values..) in the minds of travelers and theFunctionalism of pragmatism and the relativity of good and evil in it were useless, which led to the replacement of the utility with pleasure in postmodernism period, and satisfaction of pleasure has become a Western culture working to mold the society and anesthetize the individuals in it, and the West, according to Serge Latosh, becomes like a machine that the West operated and then gained the strength of Self-pushand the power to control it so it hit it and hit everyone else. Al-Kilani quotes Christopher Lukashe in his critique of Western education; saying: "... What education needs in the current phase of life is a sense of direction and purpose. Man finds himself in confusion, distraction, and despair ... We have devoted ourselves to the means while avoiding the more important issue of goals and objectives". Elia Abu Madi translated the loss of the destination in hishieroglyphs of skepticism (I do not know where I came from, but I came!), and referred to some of the reasons of confusion and loss of the compass: I was told that in the monastery there are people who realized the secret of life, but I found nothing but useless minds and ruined hearts empty of hopeand I am not blind, are they blind?I do not know , so John Dewey in his book (the renewal of philosophy) frankly criticizes the existence of a final purpose or one source of morality ( loyalty, the divine will, the will of the ruler) and attributed the reason to mention one source or one goal formorality is that it is the result of the feudal system, and there is a reason why Dewey rejects the fixed moral goals;which is the bid to get out of the confusion and conflict existing in the previous philosophies of pragmatism, and therefore believes that the principles, standards and laws are not mere mental means and tools to analyze individual situations and, accordingly, the success of the idea is linked to its individual results, in other words, relativity as he said or (multiple kinds of good) ,evil is situational, relative, andindividual and good is the same. Because of the relation between the vision and behavior, a meditation vision of the state of the West explains the absurd experienced by the West in light of the loss of the compass, and let us look at the behavior and the biography of some western thinkers and philosophers who have had an effect on changing the course of Western life, regardless of the public who ended to the era of post-modernism and the "ability to change values after a shorttime ." In his precious book (The Secular and the Holy Quran, The History of the Text), Dr. Al-Ta'an conveys to us some transcriptions about Western philosophers such as Bertrand Russell, William Cleigh Wright, and others about the personal biographies of some western symbols, and to give you some models to see the amount of the reverberation they are living. One of the models is Jean-Jacques Rousseau, author of the book of Social Contract, which changed Europe political map from the monarchy to the democratic system; thus his book is the Gospel of the French Revolution, Rousseau mentions in his book confessions of his absurdities and crimes he committed to make it an example to the European man, that's the same that historian of Western philosophy described as a thief, a traitor, a liar and was devoid of all virtues. He committed adultery with an old woman whom he had addressed her as his mother, and he and his servant were having sex with her. And when his servant died, he felt so sorry for him and what made him take it easy was the fact that he will get his clothes. Thus, the western man lives to learn that there is no relation between science and morality. Rousso gave birth to five children; he sent all of them to foundlings' houses. He wrote the book "Emile" in education in compensation for what he had done against his children. Auguste Conte was accompanied by a girl works in prostitution, they faced a financial crisis and she suggested that she should contribute to their living through her old career, but he refused doing so,this is one of the situations that he is praised toamong his companions!! As for Francis Bacon, who is described as the founder of the experimental method, one of the greatest and most famous philosopher, the good son of the Renaissance the intellectual thinker asBrentondescribed him, and the greatest mind in modern times, as said by Laure Durant, is the same who is described on the other hand that he was not a noble and honest man but he was a traitor, betrayer, stealer, andunscrupulous opportunist as described by the same philosophers who praised him previously.Leonardo da Vinci and Irazmos were sons of adultery. Descartes, who was the father of modern philosophy and was considered a religious philosopher, did not marry and had a daughter ofadultery. These are examples on the level of Philosophers and thinkers and this is a natural product of the loss of the compass and the loss of themethodology. Do we Muslims contribute to the return of the West to the path of survival and security? The need is urgent to activate the Islamic cultural role that has the compass of faith. Or do we remain influenced and consumers of western life and values !? A thought: I believes that when someone borrow people they belittle him and the one you honored is honoring you too, and not every lightning attracts me, and if I missed the matter I did not repent but if there is apardon;i do accept itand if it skewed; I do not follow it, and I abandon many things with honorif i did not get it!
