Ingredients
- meat
- 1/2 pound bacon
- 1 pound minced meat
- Produce
- 1 15 oz can baby butter cereal
- 1 can (15 ounces red beans)
- 1 onion
- 1 15 ounce can pork and beans
- spices
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Molasses or 2 tablespoons Karo syrup
- 2 tablespoons of mustard

- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- Dice the bacon and add to the skillet with half a pound of the ground beef. Combine the bacon and beef with a meat grinder or wooden spoon.
- Cook on low for several hours.
- While the meat is cooking prepare the sugar mixture.
- White sugar ketchup and brown sugar ketchup BBQ sauce mustard chili powder and pepper must all be mixed in a small bowl.
- Set it aside while you prepare the beans.
- Combine kidney beans and great northern beans in a strainer. Set the pork and beans aside.
- Drain kidney beans and great northern beans.
- Pork and beans can be poured directly into your crock pot after opening.
- Then add the great northern beans and kidney beans to the slow cooker. Stir in the beans until well combined.
- Once the meat is fully cooked it is ready to drain. Bacon is best when the ground beef is dark red and crispy before it's cooked. The bacon should not be pink or soggy when done.
- Discard the grease and cover the meat.
- Stir the sugar mixture into the meat, then remove from the heat.
- The meat is now ready to be placed in the crock.
- Add the meat to the bean mixture and stir until fully combined.
- Turn the crockpot on low and cook for at least an hour.
- Remove the lid and serve!
- These beans are great for dipping in nachos or eating with a spoon! Either way, they are great!
